Carey was a top model in fashion who measured at 5'10" she was a favorite of American fashion houses like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. She is the daughter of an outstanding geologist who in 1979 was named Scientist of the Year from the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Carey went to all over the world due to her father's work. As she was attending the University of Colorado, Carey began to model on the side. An agent from Ford's model agency located in New York noticed her and asked for help. She briefly lived and studied in Paris after which she returned in New York. Her modeling and college career took off and she was featured on Vogue's, Glamour's, as well as many other covers of magazines. While modeling she was enrolled in the study of literature at New York University. Her interest grew in acting and started taking classes at the Neighborhood Playhouse of New York. Her part was a minor one of Club Paradise with Robin Williams in 1986. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, windsurfing, climbing rocks and whitewater river rafting.
