Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress best known for her film roles in Ray Undercover Brother and on the TV show The Mentalist. She graduated with a BA in Brown University in African-American Studies. At the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University she earned an MFA. Aunjanue is l. Ellis, the American actor and producer who has worked in theater as well as television and film productions also, has been actively involved in both the film and theater screen. Her acting journey began with theater, and was later featured in several shows on television as well as independent and mainstream movies. She was known for appearing as Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) and on BET's epic The Book of Negroes. Both series received major praise from critics, and she also received a number of awards. Her professional acting debut with the character Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. Her credits on stage include The Broadway performance that Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Her most well-known work is her roles in the films Men of Honor as well as the Caveman's Valentine The Express & The Help. On television, her part on ABC's drama about police High Incident is well known.
